Smoovie helps venues host community cinema screenings using a simple, reliable system for ticketing, venue pages, playout, and monthly settlements.

Seller of record
Smoovie is the seller of record for tickets sold through smoovie.uk. We collect payment at checkout and provide transaction records. We then settle proceeds to venues and rights holders under agreed terms.
Payment flow and fees
When a customer purchases a ticket through our platform, Smoovie processes the payment, applies any relevant booking or transaction fees, allocates the agreed share to rights holders, and pays the venue the balance.
We aim to keep the structure fair for venues, supportive of film partners, and sustainable for ongoing programming and platform support.
Screenings and responsibilities
Each screening is hosted by the listed venue. Venues are responsible for the delivery of the event, including opening times, access, facilities, staffing, and any local health and safety requirements.
Smoovie provides the ticketing service and, where applicable, the film programme and playout tools used by venues.
Cancellations and refunds
Online ticket refunds are not currently available through the Smoovie website.
If you can no longer attend, we can usually move your ticket to a different date for the same screening series, subject to availability. Please contact the venue or Smoovie Support as soon as possible so we can help.
If a screening is cancelled or rescheduled by the venue, the venue is responsible for notifying ticket holders. In most cases, tickets can be moved to the new date.
Rights holder settlements
Distributors and filmmakers who license work via Smoovie are paid under pre agreed terms. Shares are calculated from ticket sales and remitted as part of our monthly settlement cycle.
Transparency and compliance
Venues receive clear statements showing sales, fees, rights allocations, and net payouts. Our goal is accurate reporting, timely settlements, and a process that is easy to understand.
We also comply with applicable legal and tax obligations in relation to the fees charged by Smoovie.
