How Smoovie works
Smoovie makes it easy for community venues to start showing films without loads of admin or complicated cinema tech.
Getting started
You create an account, book a film, download it to the Smoovie Player, tell everyone about it then run your screening. We handle the ticketing, reporting and the boring bits in the background.
What you need
You will need a venue, a projector, a screen, sound, a Windows/ PC computer to play the film, and an iPhone or iPad for taking and scanning tickets. If you are not fully set up yet, that fine as we can help you work out whats needed and provide a roadmap to getting cinema happening in the future - apply for an account even if you havent got everything ready as we can help you better if you have one.
What Smoovie does
Smoovie gives you access to our film programme, handles ticketing and reporting, and makes playback simple on the night. Once films are installed onto Smoovie Player, they can run offline so your venue doesn't need to have internet (you can install at home).
Tickets and cost
You must charge for tickets using our Smoovie Box Office app. Ticket income is then split between the venue and the filmmaker or distributor, with Smoovie taking a 10% booking fee to cover website and other business costs - We do a payout to veneus once a month with the monmey earned. There is currently no subscription fee to join.
